I loved how the story started by drawing me into a tense situation with some horrible expectation and quickly lead to the main conflict of the story. The world of seers and different temples/cultures is interesting. I enjoyed the detailed descriptions of the women's looks and personalities and the strong family of women going against a cruel new king.
