This isn't the type of book I typically read. Reading the sample didn't really change my mind, as the overdetailing on each character really stalled the pace, and I worry if that will be the case throughout. Even with all the descriptions, I didn't feel connected to the characters. I know there is a market for fantasy books, so this will likely appeal to others.
