What a beautiful cover for this most intriguing book. I love the design and the colors and it made me want to open its pages and see what is inside.
The prose is lush and beautiful, the characters strong. The plot sucked me in from the very beginning and I was instantly immersed into their world. I majored in Latin American Iberian studies in college with a minor in history so this Mesoamerican setting and the cultures represented particularly call to me. The magical aspect is wildly enticing, too. I am definitely going to need to find out what happens in the rest of this book!
