I'd be lying if I said the cover never played a part in whether or not I pick up a book, but this one did it's job and drew me straight in. It's absolutely gorgeous! The story itself sounds so intriguing, and I'm so excited to find something set in mesoamerica - I feel like this is a particularly rare setting to find in a book!
