This book had me at that stunningly gorgeous cover but kept me when I read it had themes of toppling patriarchal power. SOLD. I also love the exploration of culture through the lens of fantasy. While magic may not exist in the real world, we do have our own sort of magic in the form of female empowerment and being unafraid to confront the issues we see in the world!
