To be honest, a lot of the parts of this book dragged on a bit longer than I thought was necessary, but I guess to explain the backstory it was kind of necessary. I really loved the in-depth backstories, because when I thought I didn't need them or that I'd get bored of them, I actually liked them. Almost 700 pages of pure zombie horror, which usually is not my thing at all, but I admit I was kind of hooked. The ending, though inevitable, was kind of ruthless and bitter - it was honest, which I liked, and I knew the author(s) wasn't just looking to please his readers with an ending they saw coming from a mile away. The fact that it's a zombie horror over a period of time was also cool, as I've never read it like that before.
