I was really excited to read this book. I’ve always been a fan of horror, classic and new, and I thought that this would give me that old horror feel. Sadly I have had to DNF this book for the time being. I’ve only gotten about a third of the way through the book and it’s a struggle to keep focused on. So far, there is a lot of build up and introduction to various characters, their lifestyles, and locations. There has been a little zombie action, but not much to write home about. I’m hopeful that this book will pick up in pace and be one of my all time favorite horror novels once I’ve finished it. But for the time being, I’m putting it to the side and going to try to read something a little more fast paced to cleanse my pallet. And then hopefully I will pick it back up again and get all the way through it.
