"The Living Dead" starts off slow and doesn't recover. Character names are tossed out left and right, too many to keep track of, and the writing is thick and unengaging. There is some enjoyable foreshadowing that horror fans will appreciate, but ultimately, the book doesn't stand out from any other airport horror novel intended to be read once and thrown out.
