Based on the summary alone I probably wouldn't buy this book because it just sounds like another run of the mill zombie apocalypse story with some intentional culture drops to try to appeal to a more diverse group.
I don't know if I like how this is written and I found myself not caring about any of the characters mentioned. Also, felt myself wanting to mostly skim through chapter 2...
I can definitely see why some people might be into this and I can see it getting more involved as the story continues past just this first look but this one just isn't for me.
