The Life Council: 10 Friends Every Woman Needs, is a book talking about the different types of friends every woman needs in her life.

The book itself is well written, and talks in detail about the various roles that a person needs for support.

That being said, I did not feel like I learned anything new. I believe that this book is based around the author's life experience, with a few references attached. Which is not inherently bad, but it is something to keep in mind.

I enjoyed the concept of the people we surround ourselves with as a council. I also liked how she gives different friendships a name. Which caused me to reflect on my own relationships. I especially appreciated Laura's five core friendship philosophies.

Even though the Life Council would not fall under a scientific or extremely research-heavy book, I think it does give an interesting perspective to friendships and promotes self-reflection.
