This book was the right book, right time for me. As I navigate a new realm of adult friendship, it is helpful to have knowledge for how to approach new connections as well as appreciate the ones I have.
This book explores the possible council spots a person can have for roles in their life, resembling a board of directors for a company or organization. The approach reminded me of the numerous roles friends can play and how one friend doesn't need to fill them all. Tremaine offers examples from her own life, both demonstrating times where she fell short in her friendships and where her council members helped her achieve greater life satisfaction.
I aim to use the knowledge and encouragement I gained from reading this book to my life as I continue to explore options for my own life council and invest in the people already on the council. There is great hope.
