Oh, self-help, my least favourite genre. I remain cynical. The repackaging of personal anecdotes as guide books for getting your life together always feels like nothing more than a money making scheme. What qualifications does this author have to give advice you couldn't get elsewhere? What makes the generalized advice of this stranger better than having personal conversations with your friends or a therapist about what you need from your relationships? I guess if this advice really speaks to you, go for it, everyone starts somewhere, but it's not for me.
