#TheLatecomer by @jeanhanff is a novel New Yorkers would love to hate! It has every NY moments written into it—the pretentious names-throwing and places, the helicopter versus turn-key parents and every social issues then and now—GENIUS!!! The novel delves into the 1970s, 80s and to the current time of 2018. Many socio-economic, political, psychological, religious and physical topics were included and discussed. The author made it her main goal by bringing everything out for the readers to fathom and ponder about this dysfunctional family. The point of the book is not to get the readers to agree with her but to think the what-ifs! Moreover, it seems like it is plucked out of some popular and/or rich people’s households related to any industries. There were some slow parts in part 1 and 2, but part 3 is the rebirth and climactic part! Love it! I highly recommend this book!
