The Latecomer tells the story of the Oppenheimer family, beginning in 1990's New York City, who gives birth to triplets. As it becomes increasingly apparent that the three children could not be any more different from each other, the story delves into each of the family member's lives and their decision to add an additional child to the mix after many years.

The story, while having an interesting premise, is very slow moving. The tense shifts from first to third person are occasionally confusing and I found it difficult to become attached to any of the characters. Overall, this one is a pass for me.
