Meet the Oppenheimers, a well-to-do Brooklyn-brownstone dwelling family, whose interrelationships form the crux of the new novel, "The Latecomer," by Jean Hanff Korelitz, the author of the recent bestseller, "The Plot." The title character, Phoebe Elizabeth Oppenheimer, we don't even meet until the end of Chapter 7, but her presence is hinted at and foreshadowed as we get to know the Oppenheimer parents and their triplets who are not triplets, as the children grow and progress through childhood and are about to leave for college. A lot of narrative is packed into those first seven chapters, whetting any reader's appetite to discovering the ramifications of Phoebe's arrival not just on her immediate family but to others just outside of the family's domain. Can't wait to find out.
