The first half of the First Look honestly do not have me sold on this book. Another story where the parents are distant and the children cannot wait to get away. Then with empty nest syndrome, mom has another child. What compelled me to write a review, however, was the mention that The Latecomer will touch on privilege and race, traditions and religion. I always enjoy a read that examines these complex topics, and am interested to see how The Latecomer performs.
