The Latecomer First Look was an introduction to the Oppenheimer family. Mom and dad, Johanna and Salo, have triplets, Harrison, Sally and Lewyn, and the triplets have not bonded to one another. In fact, raising triplets has taken a toll on Johanna’s and Salo’s relationship. Johanna is totally immersed in the world of her children; her incessant focus has been trying to get her children to interact, cooperate, and care for one another, but she has failed in her efforts. The intense focus on the children has negatively impacted their marriage, and it too is failing. The writing style was a little different, with many references to “our mother,” “our father,” throughout the dialogue, making it unclear from these few pages who was narrating the story. That being said, it was an intriguing First Look, and I would like to read more.
