This book is well-written, but is wordy and seems dense for fiction. It took me a bit longer to get through the first impression than I would have expected and I had to re-read a few bits. The story has a gloomy feel to it as well with the children, even as infants, seeming unhappy overall. It's something that I might be interested in reading, but I would need to be in the right mood for it. Unfortunately, though I expect the story will become hopeful and involve some character growth, it is not one that I would want to take on right now.
