Poe Blythe wants revenge and nothing will stand in the way of that goal. Losing the most important person in her life two years before, Poe has to maintain control when she is chosen by the Admiral to lead a mission. As her ship winds its way down the river, pulling gold out of its depths, will Poe be able to use everything at her disposal to keep the mission on target? Will the teen come to certain realizations before it is too late?
Poe is just not a likable character, especially given the level of paranoia and her constant indecisiveness. Having liked other books by the author, I had a certain amount of expectation regarding the character development and the plot. I had a hard time connecting to Poe because of the many jaunts into her past. I also did not like the story itself, so I would be hesitant to recommend The Last Voyage of Poe Blythe to other readers.
