"He is dead. The Raiders made him nothing. He was everything. I make them a promise, as the smoke and fire blot out the stars. I will make you nothing, too."

The Last Voyage of Poe Blythe by Ally Condie is a dystopian story of one girl's quest for vengeance with some piratey and Western vibes thrown in. Poe is a hardened girl who's been forever changed by the death of her beau, and revenge is all she cares about, and I am so here for dark stories about girls getting what they want. This book was refreshingly different from anything I've seen in YA recently, and I highly recommend the audiobook. I listened to it in a day because I couldn't put it down!

This was my first Ally Condie book, and while it is apparently tied to some of her other works, I enjoyed it even without that context. It was a unique blend of genres, and I loved that it featured a strong female character out for vengeance. This was such a unique read that I think many teens will enjoy.
