I like the idea behind this book, and the idea of the world of Poe and Call. However, the worldbuilding and plot progression felt so rushed to me that I am not sure what to expect from the rest of this book. I love the cover of the book, and I am interested in the characters, who seem rich and interesting. However, I felt that the premise of the book (which seems to be revenge, based on the first couple chapters) is not captivating enough to keep me wanting more. It feels a bit directionless at this point. However I am very interested to see if there are any plot twists or developments that turn things around!
