I was immediately drawn into the Last Voyage of Poe Blythe courtesy of the absolutely stunning cover. I honestly think that it would have been enough to stop me in a bookstore and get me to read the back cover (which then would have been enough to talk me into buying it).

The introduction of this novel was not what I expected. It starts out sweet and endearing. It was enough to get me attached to the characters. And then it ripped my heart out. Thankfully the overwhelming emotion I was feeling was not enough to force me to stop reading. I’m very grateful for that because I quickly found myself hooked.
I love the way the story slowly progressed. It got us hooked and then knew it had the time to slow down and show us some of the world and what was happening within it. It’s a dark read, but it has happier moments that brighten the mood.
I finished reading the excerpt yesterday, and I caught myself thinking about it several times today. I keep wishing I had more to go back and read. I’m just so curious about what’s going to happen next and how Poe is going to handle it. I can’t wait until the release day!
