Thrilling from Start to Finish
The Last Murder at the End of the World is a wonderful mix of science fiction and dystopian and was a joy to read. The novel is told from the perspective of an omniscient narrator who tells the story of the many villagers and elders on an isolated island. The deadly fog has only been held back thanks to the scientific advances made by the elders before the end of the world. This novel is mostly murder mystery combined with suspense as the reader hopes the characters will be able to solve the crime before the fog engulfs the island and kills everyone who lives there.
I really liked the short chapters which made it easy to stay focused and excited about reading this book. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down and I read a majority of the book in one sitting. The character development and interactions are amazing and the plot keeps the reader engaged until the very last page.
