This book is a fun mix of science fiction and mystery! The book takes you on the journey of a group of islanders that are forced to live on an island that is just out of reach of a fog that can kill anyone it touches. There is a being that all villagers on this island can hear and talk to in their head. This being is the narrator of the story.
Hearing from the point of view of this narrator was very interesting, we got a unique perspective into everyone’s thoughts and feelings that was helpful as eventually there was a murder to be solved. There were a lot of questions I had throughout the book that were not answered until the very end, but I do think the ending of the book wrapped up nicely and answered most, if not all of the questions that I had. Everything in the book was important and connected to the ending of the book.
The cover of the book is beautiful, and also has images that are of importance in the story, which you likely would not realize until after you finish reading.
