'The Giver' but it's a Secret

Immediately, I am taken in by the descriptions of how the community functions and the dynamic amongst the characters. I want to know more about them and the history that shaped their society. I'm also extremely curious about Emory and what sets her apart from the rest of the village. Despite the dystopian setting established from the very beginning, I suspect none of the characters realize just how dangerous their lives truly are.

The cover leaves much to be desired. It doesn't bring anything new or exciting and could easily be mistaken for a dime-a-dozen cheesy thriller-romance novel.
