The author’s idea of the fog circling the island and dangers from within and without is intriguing. The person who was banished seems to be up to something and Niema appears to have a problem she needs to solve to keep the majority of the villagers living. It would be easy to get caught up in the story about Emery and the others. The author has done a good job setting up the plot.
