Based on the sample and description, this sounds like a story I'd enjoy, as I'm a fan of mysteries and dystopian novels. The "locked room" being an entire island is an original angle. The fog aspect reminds me of one of my favorite movies. 've heard great things about this author, but I've never read anything. I'd be interested in checking this one out.
