The cover of this novel drew my eye in, with it's pastel colors and oceanside scene. The thing that caught my eye the most was the title plastered across this serene scene, quite a contrast.
I was hooked by the sneak preview as their seems to be somewhat of a sci-fi/fantasy aspect to this novel I did not expect. I expected more of a murder-mystery build up. The inner voice of those on the island and the barrier around the town is what hooked me into this preview. I need to know why and how these things have come to be and I think there will be a lot more to puzzle out as the book progresses, much like previous work from the author.
