An Apocalyptic Story with Eerie Vibes

The title of this book immediately captured my attention and made me want to start reading this book now. While reading the prologue, I wondered if this would be a retelling of Jesus' days on Earth, with the new prophet facing a death that might change the world after failing at " trying to rid humanity of its selfishness, greed, and impulse toward violence" (page 2). However,the remote Greek island setting, the apocalyptic death surrounding the island, and a tough subsistence existence for these survivors who had been used to buying food and medicine off store shelves has raised more questions than it has answered. It seems to promise an extremely interesting story!
