A mystery within a dying world

What is Niema’s plan? Why does she think that the risk of wiping out the last Remaining humans is one she’s willing to take? After having read Stuart Turton’s previous two novels, I know that the first impression I have from his stories is not a complete understanding of where the story will go, but it’s enough to know I’m dying to read more.
