This is one of those stories that you really have no idea what is going on when you start reading it. I've never read anything by Stuart Turton before, so I don't know if this is typical of his work. I found it a bit disorienting, but maybe that's the point. There are bits of foreshadowing that keep you wanting to read the next chapter and the writing is descriptive enough to set a good scene.
