The Last Girls standing is the story of Sloan, a recent high school graduate who was one of the only two survivors of a gruesome ritualistic massacre at a summer camp. Sloan and Cherry, her girlfriend and the other survivor, are understandably inseparable. As Sloan works to unblock her memories of that day and learns more about the murderes, she starts to suspect that Cherry might have actually been a part of the cult behind it all.

When I say wow, I mean it! I finished this book, looked back at the last page and said "what did I just read?" This book is filled with twists and turns that will keep you guessing from one chapter to the next. I liked how with Sloan's missing memories and the mystery of her family, you couldn't be sure where the story was heading or what really happened that day. Cherry and Sloan are absolutely toxic together, which I think was well explored (if not a bit frustrating) and for a moment, when Sloan recognizes that they only knew each other for a few days before the murders, I thought/hoped they were actually going to break up. Sadly, I was not a fan of the ending as it didn't have the proper development and confused me by springing up out of nowhere. Overall, it was a gripping read that captured my attention, but didn't quite stick the landing.
