The writing is engaging, and the author's attention to detail makes the story come to life. Sloan's struggles with her adoptive parents and the trauma she has experienced add depth to her character and make her relatable to readers. However, the author also creates ambiguity around the reliability of Sloan's memories, leaving the reader unsure of what to believe, which make the thriller more enticing as you can possibly think differently about the situation than Sloan.

Overall, "The Last Girls Standing" seems like a promising read for those who enjoy coming-of-age stories with complex characters and intricate plot lines. The author's writing style draws you in, and the story's premise leaves room for potential twists and turns. Who doesn't love a sapphic romantic thriller--I can't think of any others that I have read, so am excited to finally have one to read!
