This one truly had me on the edge of my seat for half the book as Sloan tries to unravel the events of the night she survived a summer camp massacre. I was expecting to walk through the night a little bit more because from the cover it promised some gore and some violence. We do get snippets but it felt incomplete. Sloan's spiraling felt authentic although I did not like the unhealthy trauma bond she had with Cherry that wasn't really addressed. The mystery of what truly happened kinda fizzled out to an ending that just didn't feel right. Sloane's character arc just fell apart. I wanted to know a bit more about the killers and their motives; their stories felt flimsy.

This is a case of a great idea but a poor execution which sucks because I truly love the author's previous works. She has a knack for writing, but this one felt out of character. Perhaps, she needs to find her footing inn the thriller world.
