Meh. I didn't really enjoy this book but luckily it was a fairly short, quick read. I called the ending extremely early and then just proceeded to roll my eyes throughout the entirety of the book. Very predictable, very boring, this makes Final Girls by Riley Sager look like a good book and it wasn't! I was very disappointed. I didn't like any of the characters and the pacing was so slow. I can get behind a campy 80's slasher book but this wasn't it. Cult vibes were lacking as well. I thought she was going to really take off with that aspect but there wasn't enough to keep me invested. The therapist was a terrible therapist or hypnotist or whatever she was she was bad at her job. The mothers were also awful characters, why even include them if you're not going to flesh them out? This was my first Jennifer Dugan book and I say, stick with the romantic comedies instead of horror. The cover is fun though!
