Overall, this book was just an okay read for me.

I liked how the author took inspiration from 80s slashers movies, and I felt she incorporated that into the narrative well. I think any reader who reads this novel that is a fan of such a genre will pick up on the little nods and references she uses, and I really liked that homage throughout the book.

I also really loved all the queer representation in this book! I hope the author will continue writing more stories with such fantastic rep.

One big thing I didn't like about the book was the pacing. The book started off too slow for my liking, and that ultimately affected not only my enjoyment of the story, but my ability to connect with the characters. I believe the pacing picked up towards the middle, and I thought the book finished strong; but I didn't like the struggle it took for me to get there. I set this book down far too many times at the beginning, and it was a struggle for me to pick it back up. So overall, the execution of this story was lacking for me.
