I was really excited to borrow this book from my friend because I've loved the other Jennifer Dugan books I've read. This one though, just didn't work for me.
I want to note that that's not an issue on the author. The writing was still good and the story was still interesting. It just wasn't my type of book so I wound up not enjoying it as much as I had hoped to.
The writing in this book is really good. The author does a great job at writing in a way that typically draws me in. That was no different in this book. It's written well grammatically and such. It's well-edited and the author is really good at pacing.
The characters were interesting enough but I found them to be one of the least interesting parts in the book. I just had no connection with any of them and I had no real interest in wanting to know more about them. I wanted them to be okay, but I wasn't invested in them.
