đź’Thoughts:
I was really excited to read this book, but sadly it didn’t live up to my expectations. I was expecting a fun, summer camp slasher. Instead I got a complicated, scattered story centered around a very toxic relationship.

Sloan and Cherry survived a very traumatic event. The details of exactly what happened are never really made clear. Sloan is an unreliable narrator, which I typically enjoy, but I feel like the ending needs to answer the questions left by the narrator being unreliable. Instead, the ending of this story just left more questions unanswered. The pacing also felt off. The ending was very rushed and seemed like the author didn’t know how to end the story, so she through something random together.

I did enjoy the cult aspect of the story. It was so creepy every time Sloan referred to the killer as The Fox. Anytime a story involves strangers in masks, I get totally freaked out. I think it’s from all the horror movies I watched in high school. The cover is beautiful and I like that it includes the people in masks.

This story has so much promise, but sadly fell flat for me.
