What a delightfully dark First Look at Jennifer Dugan's upcoming horror novel! The Last Girls Standing plays with a handful of addictive tropes (the "final girl," summer camp slashers, and a romance forged in tragedy). I love how the plot plays out AFTER the events at camp Money Springs, rather than leading up to the horrific massacre, as Sloan struggles to fill in the gaps in her memories. I also appreciated the set-up as Sloan begins to question Cherry's connections to "the Fox" and his machete-wielding companions. I will read this one as soon as the full book is available!
