I went straight into the excerpt without reading the synopsis. I think the excerpt did a good job at representing the issues of Cherry and Sloan relationship- there is a codependent-ness that is messy. What is Cherry feeding to Sloan to cover up her family involvement in the massacre/what happened that day? I think Cherry being bad guy is a red herring because the story is pushing it so hard. I am on the fence if I would be into this story even though it does have good premise.
