This book was a 5 star for me. Also thank you to BookishFirst for providing me with an ARC of this wonderful book. I love that it was by a debut author and for how set up was set for the next book in the series. The world-building was absolutely fantastic and immaculate. I enjoyed how unique the world was with its magic system. I loved the dialogue between characters Nhika and Ven. I will say that for a YA fantasy book it did reach into some darker elements which I appreciate because its not often that I read a YA book with darker elements. I loved how throughout the novel Nhika started to appreciate and love her gift rather than despise it. I thought that as a character Nhika is well-written and realistic. I liked hjow even though Nhika was given a terrible hand in her life she is just trying to make the best of it. Overall, I enjoyed this book and that it was lovely and am looking forward to see were the next book takes us.
