What initially drew me towards this book was the cover. The book cover is just so gorgeous! I went into this book blindly because just the cover alone drew me in.
This book is truly the first book of its kind that I've read that kept me glued to it's pages. I never wavered with boredom and almost stayed up too late every single night until I finished this book. I loved every second of this book. The world building was very interesting as you learning the world with the main character, Nhika throughout the story. I hate when the world building is just explained in a paragraph at the beginning like other books tend to do. The characters were all interesting with their own complexities and backstories.
I don't usually rate a book five stars but this book truly lived up to the rating. I can't wait for book 2 to find out what happens next! Hopefully I don't have to wait too long.
