Nhika, who I assume is pictured on the front of 'The Last Bloodcarver' by Vanessa Le, is impressive both on the bookcover and in the story. Admittedly not a YA Fantasy fan, I am not familiar with the 'bloodcarver' concept but enjoyed every word of The First Look. According to the synopsis there is much more to learn of Nhika's story and I would be interested to read the entire story. I would give 'The Last Bloodcarver' four stars.
