The Last Bloodcarver - First Impression

Based off the cover I was hesitant about if this would be something I'd like to read or not as I was thinking it'd be more of a gory or creepy kind of read with the ability to manipulate anatomy. However, the sample doesn't suggest that this will necessarily be the case. I like that Nhika was trained to use her powers for healing and that ultimately that's what she'd prefer to do with it, even though she has to use it other ways to get out of a tight bind. And I like that her powers make me think more of like a shifter, but with more control/need for control to use it and a superhero combined, even though it's neither of these things.
