I wasn't sure what to expect when the book opened, but as soon as Nhika revealed her gifts, I was tuned in. I can't tell if she will end up enjoying the company of the girl with the fan or if she would have been better off with the masked man. I have a feeling, though, that he was the boy she saw in the street.
All in all, a great start to a fantasy and super intriguing.
