Young adult fantasy is not my go-to genre, but this First Look at The Last Bloodcarver by Vanessa Le definitely captured my interest. I appreciate the map in the opening pages, and the first chapter did a great job of world-building while also building suspense and intrigue. The cover is fantastic and will appeal to readers of fantasy and those who are drawn in by the potential body horror twist. A very strong start to a debut duology!
