I think this is a perfect book for anyone that is thinking about taking up knitting as a hobby. In the reading you find out how to make patterns and there are great illustrations that give examples of how the yard should look on the needle. Then the last chapter contains references to further reading once you have accomplished the A-Z of knitting.
I have tried to knit before and had a hard time since this was before youtube.com, but I feel like with this book and the vast amount of knitting turtorials online that I would be able to take on knitting. Either way I will definitely be recommending this book to my sister who has been a knitter for a couple of years since I think anyone can learn some new lingo from this book.
