When I was a married adult my mom taught me how to knit. As her life came to the end, she could no longer do her sewing and knitting was the only thing left she could do. We would sit and knit for hours together. As the end became days and then hours, knitting was done one stitch at a time and I have a blanket of the very last knittings she attempted. I was always unaware of how she knew just what to do. What is the "right" side? How do folks know how to follow a pattern? I can go across a row and then back, that is it. Seeing the terms in just the Letter A and B, makes me realize how knitting is its own language.
