The cover is gorgeous.
I took a long time to complete this book because I am not used to reading such a richly developed, densely populated story. The Kingdoms of Savanah is a Southern fiction story based on historical Southern nonfiction. Told in five chapters, all with clever, literary titles, this novel weaves an intricate story filled with charming, lascivious, corrupt, innocent and curious southerners. I really loved this book but was at times confused by all the characters. There were a few frustrating pronoun mismatches. The dialogue is fun to read out loud and i worked out my Southern impressions while reading this book. I'm not into historic fiction, so I struggled through the plot, but I can see that a lot of readers would enjoy immersing themselves into the historical mystery/drama this story offers. This is a strong 4 star read.
