Being somewhat familiar with Savannah's history of wealth built on the lives of the poor has me interested in this read; there is definitely a line drawn in the sand between these two yet at the same time their paths cross and are connected. The tone of the first pages brings back memories from days spent listening to stories told in my aunt's kitchen - she knew people from high society and those not as fortunate. I would love to read more of this book.
